Interactive Case

An Interactive Decision Tree is comprised of a description of a complex situation presented to the participant and 3 -5 initial alternatives for dealing with it. These alternatives may be optimal, sub-optimal but acceptable, or unacceptable. Selecting the optimal action will lead to a screen that shows the consequences of that action. When the correct action is not chosen, participants will learn the consequences of making a sub-optimal choice and possibly learn additional information about the situation that allows them to ultimately arrive at the best answer. There can be up to 4 levels of decision alternatives, consequences and further decisions. Upon finally arriving at the optimal solution, participants can receive a multimedia clip "reward" that generalizes the lessons to be learned from the situation.
