IMPORTANT:
As of Monday, August 19th, the Fundamentals of Insurance Exam will be updated with questions from the new 2024 Autoplan Supplement (version April 2024).
- If you are writing on August 18th or before, you will receive questions based on the Autoplan Supplement version September 2020.
- If you are writing on August 19th or after, you will receive questions based on the new 2024 Auto Plan Supplement version April 2024.
Registration Process:
- Complete the pre-registration form
and submit it. You will need to select a proctoring option.
Please be aware that changing your proctoring option after approval may result in an administrative fee.
- Nominated Proctor: A proctor nomination form must be filled out by your proctor and emailed to IBABC. Your registration will not be approved without this form.
- Virtual Proctor (Online): Additional fees apply.
- IBABC Office: $15.00 (tax inclusive) will be added to your exam fee. You will be sent an email with instructions to schedule your exam sitting after the registration is approved.
- Retain the reference number from the confirmation
page for your records. Captus Press will also
send you a confirmation email containing the pre-registration information.
- Upon IBABC approval, Captus Press will process
your payment of $195. If applicable, a $15 in office proctoring fee will also be charged.
- Once payment has been processed, you will be sent
an email with a candidate code for the exam. Your proctor will also receive their code
via email. Should you not receive the
email, you may also retrieve your candidate code from the Confirmation page that appears
after you register. You will need to add that page to your favourites in order to
do this.
- Your candidate code will, in conjunction with the appropriate
proctor code, give access to the exam only on your selected exam date. Please
allow sufficient time for IBABC and Captus to process your application.

Examination Availability
You may begin an examination between 10AM to 7PM Eastern time on Monday through Saturday. It is highly recommended that Examinations be started between these times to avoid possible loss of service due to routine maintenance.

a legal agreement between you and the Insurance Brokers Association of B.C. (IBABC) and Captus Press Inc. for access to the IBABC Fundamentals of Insurance Online Examination.
